Re: A Message from the TEAM President
Dear Members:
After 41+ years of working for MTS/Bell MTS, as of this Friday I start a new chapter of my life as a retiree. It has been my honour and pleasure to serve as TEAM President for almost 13 of those years, and I wish to thank you for your support throughout that time. I wouldn’t say that it was always easy, but I felt my efforts and willingness to stand up for our members, friends and coworkers was personally rewarding. Of significant note is our win at the Supreme Court of Canada in 2014, where it was determined that $140 million was owed to the members of the MTS Defined Benefit Pension Plan. Other memorable moments include each and every round of contract negotiations. They were always difficult, painfully slow, and sometimes touch and go, but with your support, we got there in the end.
