• General Meetings & Presentation: Once again our General Meetings were very well attended and we appreciate the members’ participation.  A number of significant workplace issues were raised during the Q&A sessions and after the meetings, for which we are taking steps to investigate further and seek resolutions.  The meeting presentation is available here. Please contact the TEAM office if you have questions on any of the topics in the document.

• Job Reductions: Further to Bell’s October 10^th announcement to implement more job reductions in Manitoba, we would like to remind members who are considering applying for an EVRTIP package, that the last day to apply is November 8^th.  To assist TEAM in tracking and monitoring the progress of this voluntary departure program, if applicable and you haven’t already done so, please provide the following information:

Members in targeted positions:  If you are in a targeted position, please click here and provide your name, position title, and if you intend to apply for the EVRTIP or not, or are currently undecided.

Members not in targeted positions:  If you are not in a targeted position, but intend to apply for the EVRTIP, please click here and provide your name, position title, and VP group.

• TEAM Scholarships: Congratulations to this year’s winners of the TEAM-IFPTE Local 161 Annual Scholarships.
  The four scholarships of $1,000 each for first year post-secondary students enrolled in university, community college, trade school or an apprenticeship program were awarded to:
  • Sophie Connor (member: Doris Maynard-Connor)
  • Emily Marshall (member: Brigitte Marshall)
  • Leanne McNiven (member: Ian McNiven)
  • Aurora Wiebe (member: Shelby Wiebe)

Three awards of up to $500 each were provided to TEAM members to help defray the cost of any academic or vocational course or seminar. The recipients are:

  • Dale Karpiak
  • Jody Verrier

• Home Mailing Address:  If you have already confirmed your address with the TEAM office, you can ignore the rest of this paragraph. In preparation for distributing a grievance settlement award to members, and in preparation for a possible mail-out ballot for the upcoming TEAM Board elections, we are requesting that you provide your current home mailing address to the TEAM office.  Thank you.

• Award Cheques:  Should you wish to pick up your $100 cheque for the grievance settlement award, please feel free to stop by the TEAM office – we are open 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday to Friday: 200-1 Wesley Avenue, Winnipeg.  Any cheques not picked up will be mailed out in the week of November 18^th when we will know if we are mailing out ballots for the Board elections.
