Meeting with Bell MTS: Earlier today TEAM leadership met with Bell MTS senior management, including Dan McKeen (Vice Chair, Bell MTS & Western Canada, Senior VP Small Business). The meeting was both positive and constructive, and provided an opportunity for us to share a number of matters of concern to members and ways they might be addressed. With regard to a VRTIP, we can say with a high degree of confidence that another VRTIP will not be offered this year. Beyond that, we have no indication if or when there might be downsizing in 2018. However, TEAM’s primary focus continues to be on the continued employment of our members.

Annual General Meetings: The 2017 TEAM Annual General Meeting presentation is available here. Paul Shearon, IFPTE Secretary-Treasurer, was a guest speaker at the Downtown Winnipeg session: IFPTE news bulletin. The meetings were well attended at all three locations.
-
Banking of Vacations Credits: At one of the TEAM AGM sessions, the question was asked if Bell could stop employees from banking vacation days for payout on departure from the Company. For members participating in the DB Pension Plan this has the result of increasing their monthly pension. As members of TEAM, our Collective Agreement protects the right to bank vacation (and overtime) in accordance with the Letter of Understanding - Banking of Vacation/Vacation Overtime Credits.
Members wishing to take advantage of this right should note that as a negotiable item there is no guarantee that this right will continue in successive Agreements, and may want to plan their “banking” accordingly.
