At the May 30th negotiating session the Company offered to make Bell SMEs available to answer questions relating to Bell’s processes. Earlier this month our Executive Director and Labour Relations Officer participated in conference calls with the SMEs on the topics of vacation scheduling, vacation pay, maternity leave, short-term and long-term disability, medical forms, and Manulife’s appeal process.
Bell’s SMEs openness when responding to our questions was very much appreciated and helped us develop a better understanding of Bell’s proposals and internal processes, including the pros and cons for our members. TEAM’s Negotiating Committee has subsequently compiled and provided to Bell a comprehensive response to their May 30th package of proposals. The parties resume talks this Friday, continuing the conciliation process.
