Re:          New and Noteworthy

  • 2015 Annual General Meeting:  The meeting presentation is available here.
  • Leaving gifts:  TEAM Board Policy #11 provides a gift to members who are retiring from MTS, and those who are leaving for other reasons that have been in TEAM for at least 10 years.  To ensure that you or your departing co-worker(s) receive their leaving gift, please click here and notify the TEAM office.
  • Women’s Memorial Lunch:  TEAM has a limited number of tickets available on a first come, first served basis, for the Manitoba Federation of Labour Women’s Memorial Luncheon:

11:45 am Friday, December 4, 2015
Union Centre
275 Broadway
Winnipeg

The lunch is in honour of women who lost their lives to violence and in memory of the 14 women that were killed at École Polytechnique in Montreal on December 6, 1989.

  • Brand Bootcamp Photographs:  Many members have expressed concern that MTS requires them to have their photograph taken for the customer first pledge during the Brand Bootcamp.  TEAM notified the Company of its concerns citing the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).  The Company assures us that they have advised the CORE Team that it is not mandatory for employees to have their photographs taken.  There are many reasons people do not want their photograph taken, however, the taking of your photograph for commercial use without your permission is protected under PIPEDA.  To do so is deemed an invasion of one’s privacy.  Should you want advice on this matter please contact the TEAM office: team@teamunion.mb.ca, 204-984-9470.
  • Rotation into Acting Assignments:  To give a greater number of TEAM members developmental opportunities, Article 9.07 of our Collective Agreement allows interested qualified employees to rotate through temporary assignments that were not previously posted and the assignment has now exceeded 12 months (excluding project related assignments).  To be considered for rotation into an acting position submit the Acting Appointment Rotation Request form that can be found on Our Source:
  1.  In ‘Our Source’ click the ‘Work’ tab and select ‘Forms’ from the drop-down menu.  A list of the forms will be displayed.

  2. Clicking on the ‘Acting Appointment Rotation - TEAM Members Only’ form, results in the prompt to go to the ‘Lateral Transfer Request - TEAM Members Only’ form.

  3. Click the ‘Lateral Transfer Request’ form, go down to ‘Views’ and click on ‘My Submission’ to start a new request.

  4. Indicate on the form that you are submitting an ‘Acting Appointment Rotation’ as the ‘Transfer Type’.

  5. Complete the form, attach a current resume, and submit the request.
