Re: Important Negotiations Update
We are disappointed to have to inform you that once again MTS has prematurely requested government intervention in the Collective Bargaining process. We were surprised that MTS stated that “…there are numerous issues outstanding. The parties are clearly at impasse”, when neither party has presented a detailed monetary package to the other. As stated in our response to the Director General of the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service we are still awaiting disclosure of information that will impact the content of our detailed monetary proposals.
Requesting a conciliator starts a process that can ultimately lead to a strike or lockout. We will be discussing this and the monetary concessions that MTS is proposing at the negotiations update meetings next week.
